In our inaugural episode of Natural Tendencies, Rick talks to a successful VP who he lovingly refers to as “The Human Chameleon” about dealing with anxiety, growing up with psychiatrists and the imbalance that results from molding your own behaviors to the needs of others.
Primary Practice mentioned in the episode:
- Red Light Meditation: Red lights can be frustrating, but they don’t have to be. In reality, they are true reminders to STOP. So, I suggest that you rethink your view of red lights, and see them as an opportunity to stop and reconnect your mind and body. You can do this by breathing in first. While breathing in, know you are breathing in. And on the out breath, simply smile. Repeat. This simple exercise was developed by Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh, and, while so simple, can do wonders for the nervous system, relaxation, and the power that comes from being present in the moment.
